If you just reinstalled Nam, and need the patchs, get the 295MB v1.2 patch and the 10MB v1.21 patch at:

ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/bfv_v1_2.exe
ftp://largedownloads.ea.com/pub/patches/battlefield_vietnam_incremental_patch_v1.2_to_v1.21.exe

Getting them down at 250KB/sec which isn't bad.
