Wow.  Regardless of reason if this is true then Activision really do suxor!!!

No-one seems to know what the 'insubordination' in their filing was... yet.

The only thing I can think of is that they out and out refused to make a CoD game and Activision were having none of it.

Why else would they simply disappear?

At this stage in the dev process, the next CoD game from whatever other developer or Treyarch has to be far enough along to be shown as not upto the quality and/or polish of an IW game.

Activision will want IW working on CoD, full stop.

It's why they bought IW in the first place. A publisher like Activision, or any of them, including EA, will leverage every trick in the book to ensure that the investment they've made into a billion dollar franchise will continue to rake in the yacht partys with the air punching, high fives, hookers, cocaine and whatnot.

Will be interesting to see if we ever get any details on why...

Interesting all right.  Also seen however that IW and Treyarch do not see eye to eye, and code exchanges betweeh the iterations of the COD games where sometimes troublesome with IW not wanting to hand code over....

I'd love to know where the decision to not include dedicated servers lay for COD MW2.  If the decision, or advice and pressure came from IW when you might be seeing Activision laying down the smack down because as of Friday I expect MW2 to be pretty much dead in the water.
