Last night my game kept locking up. No idea why. Reinstalled the game, applied the patch, but no luck.

I reinstalled DirectX9c, for the fun, and it cured it
Seemingly someone else on TS last night had a similar program. Try reinstalling DirextX, and see if it cures the problem.
