Single seater choppers

Ok, bit of a rant here, is it just me, or does anyone else get really, really, REALLY pissed off to spawn at the airfield only to watch a friendly chopper take to the skies, with only the pilot on board? And of course the jeeps, apc's etc are always gone as well.... And no matter how many times you call for a pick up they just fly off, usually of course to be shot down 30 seconds later... I don't expect anyone to hang around long waiting for a co pilot, but especially at the start of a game, it's a right royal pain in the arse. I wouldn't mind, but especially with the attack choppers if you get a good gunner you're laughing.....

(edited for typo....)

yeah that really really pisses me off more than any thing else on the planet! (except americans)
its even more annoying when the match is near an end one more flag needs to be taken and a jeep/humvee or what ever drives right by 4-5 of your team mates with out stopping leaving them to walk while they have the only nearby transport parked beside there dead body....

and the choppers are another thing they really lose about 70% of there effectiveness without a gunner, good or bad (the bomber as well)
at spawn or when ever i'm driving about i always stop and wait to see if they want a lift after all 3 men attacking one flag is better then 1

Sorry, are these things new to BF2? Or has this always been the case since BF1942?

well said valen. It is really, really annoying alright. i think the only more annoying and frustrating thing was having one of yur team mates tk u as u run for a chopper, just so he can have it.

would you rather they wait then newb you to death with their lack of flying skills?

dont whine, they will always rush off.. just wait for vehicle respawn or go on your way.

True Valen, it's not new to BF2, but I think the thing is it's a new game, that's attracting a lot of new players, and the percentage of muppets is increasing.
And Dealt, I'm not whining, I'm ranting... big difference!! Granted it's also a pain in the ass when a novice pilot flies you into a tree, but that doesn't annoy me as much for some reason. And I kind of like the whole idea of a bit of teamwork and sticking together, so 'going my own way' is something I try not to do....

i can almost live with the one man chopper and the driving off and its not new to bf but the squad thing is and i thiught the idea of that was to stick together to get things done and when your squad member does it its even more annoying, hence i don't like playing on public servers to much
the best games i've ever played were when the squad traveled together and worked with other

for eg every one dies but one member, that member would hide close by, if he was the leader then we all could spawn back at him but if he wasn't every one leave the squad so that he becomes the leader then spawm back on him any way allowing people to get back to the position quickly, say its a flag and a tank defending it rather then waiting for the rest of the squad to run back (because others would drive past them in an empty apc or whatever) they could spawn back right were they died with a shiny new anti-tank kit
