Bits and bobs?
« on: July 20, 2010, 07:34:30 PM »
Ahoy lads, my wee lad is almost 8 years old and is always looking to play his daddys pc these days.
He has 30-40 games for his xbox 360 and in fairness ive spent a small fortune on games for that format but theres only one or two he plays at all now :(
This got me thinking about the longevity quite a few pc games offer so a few weeks back little Sean had a go of the pc and within an hour he was fragging with the best of them.
Very recently hes been sampling some RTS titles and blowing me away with how fast he picks the games up.
This all got me thinking about getting a pc for him especially since he can use all the games i have on steam etc.
After playing the pc he has lost interest in the 360 and much prefers playing COD, TF2 etc on pc even though he has them on console not to mention all other genres hes tried on pc  [No Frikking Way is he trying wow yet lol although hes asked so many times]
All well and good i know but the missus will seriously blow a fuse if i splash out on a rig for him.
I mentioned this on TS recently an Fairy said maybe i should make a thread to see if anyone has some spare bits and bobs they dont use to see if i can put together some form of rig.
It doesnt have to be anything special at all, i realise its a long shot but feck it if i could put something together for him he would be chuffed.

I have a Nvidia 4800 GTS and 4 gig DDR lying around here, also think i might have a lowly 300 watt PSU.
I also have a few Monitors,Mouse, Keyboard,headset,speakers.
