Better stick with the ohl reliable! As far as I'm aware a few have the samsung SSD, myself included. Slight difference in cost for slightly better read and write speeds. Even go for the 250gb one?

OOOOoooo.... ?219 for the 500GB EVO 850? Nice!

?200 now hardwareversand.de - was ?214 back in Februay, but was ?259 in Komplett at the time.

DO NOT TOUCH the EVO 840's - was a problem with them a while back, and seems there's some other problem with them recently.

its only about a little over a year old, it was a self build (with a little help from a 3rd party lol) but the hard drive came out of an old arec laptop

Syco, you're saying that as if you heard people were having problems with them and not from your own experience. If you google any SSD's there is always going to be someone who has had bad experiences with them. On the other hand the Samsung range are the best selling SSD's worldwide for a reason.

froggy, do it click the link and buy it now! You'll feel like a new man when you pop your OS onto it!

kdoo12; there's people having issues, and there's the manufacture admitting the problem with their read speeds. Now, I'm not saying it's a massive reduction in read speed, but if you're paying top dollar for top performance, you'll expect not to have some bug dragging speeds down. I think they're on their 3rd fix.

Anyhoo's, the EVO 850 (also Samsung) is what he's getting, and what I plan on getting. Great piece of kit. Just saying to avoid the 840 in case he finds one nice and cheap.

And long may they last Grim on their advertised read speed!
