A new BFBC2 PC Beta client is on its way.
Don't worry it is a new painless process and will not be a massive 1.4Gb download again.
Watch this space for information on fixes and how to go about getting the RC2 Client.

The RC2 contains the following fixes:

Front end:
Fixes server browser crashes. Server browser more resilient against corrupt online service data, and better support for large number of servers.
Several server browser ping issues resolved.

Windows XP stability:
Fixed crash on windows XP at end of round, exit game and display mode changes and.
Proper window style / mouse confinement when starting game maximized on XP .

Options dialog:
Mouse sensitivity setting gives more effect.
Mouse sensitivity loaded on game startup.

The update to RC2 will be 8.4Mb

When you next start BFBC2 you should get this message (Steam users can update through Steam).

still no joy for me. I can start up the game and log in. Click play now still just gives me the "connection to server lost check your net connection message". Tried opening a few ports that were suggested on the ea forums. I even tried turning off the firewall and that didn't even work. I heard there's a patch out but it says it gets downloaded automatically when u log in but i haven't noticed anything.

And you've tried just selecting the servers tab to the bottom right, and selecting a server, yes?

Wouldnt auto update for me either.

Heres the manual way todo it.
Go to computer-programs-Electronic Arts-battlefield bad company folder and then theres "bfbc2betaupdater.exe"

That`ll install the update for you.

Suppa steam will update it automatically.  You shouldn't need to do anything.  If you look in your "My Documents" folder you will see a folder for the game.  In this folder there is an xml file.  In it you will see client version.  Mine reads client_version="0.1.0.0.0".

Well ladies i mean lads hows things, are yas going to midlans in 3months, fairly sure this game is going to be in competitions as long as its out haha
