Gaming Feed News / There’s an unfinished loot box system in the COD: Modern Warfare beta
« Last post by [TiG]Betty on September 14, 2019, 05:24:16 PM »It looks like a loot box system is planned for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare. With a beta now live on PlayStation 4, players have been getting their first good look at the game, and are sharing screengrabs of a 'common supply drop', an item classified as a 'loot box', in the post-match summary screen.
Multiple users on the Modern Warfare Subreddit, Twitter, and YouTube have posted screenshots and footage of 'after-action reports' featuring the supply drop, as you can see below.
There’s no detail on what it contains - whether cosmetic or otherwise - or whether others like it will also available for purchase. This and the fact that there's space for an image, but none included, suggests that the feature could be incomplete or revealed before developer Infinity Ward intended. One thing seems implied by 'common', though - it looks like supply drops will come in different rarities.

Gaming Feed News / Spells Taught by Classic Profession and Class Trainers Now Tracked on Wowhead
« Last post by [TiG]Betty on September 11, 2019, 02:28:09 PM »We're happy to share that our Classic database now tracks what recipes profession trainers teach, and abilities class trainers teach.
As trainers for the same profession or class may not always teach you the same array of spells, it's useful to check and see what recipes are only taught by one NPC! For example, the Enchanted Thorium Bar page now has a "Taught by" tab showing that Annora in Uldaman is the only trainer. You'll want to come prepared with materials and gold!

Gaming Feed News / Train Simulator 2020 gets a shiny announcement trailer full of shiny trains
« Last post by [TiG]Betty on September 11, 2019, 02:28:08 PM »Dovetail Games has just unveiled the next instalment in its Train Simulator series, now celebrating its tenth year, with a shiny new announcement trailer that showcases its, well, shiny new trains. Kicking off with some pretty exciting music, the trailer is a brief look at what’s in store for Train Simulator 2020.
The trailer (which you can check out below) is, probably unsurprisingly, a montage of trains featured in the game, which includes “diesel, electric, and steam locomotives from across the globe†according to the video’s description. As well as the chance to “haul freight through the forested hills of North Carolina on Norfolk-Southern N-Line†and help commuters get to work “along the South Western Main Line†the game will also offer a “brand-new exclusive route†- the Nürnberg & Regensburg Bahn.
The trailer highlights some of the new features the studio says are heading to the game. Helping the game “reach new heights of visual realism†there will be a “range of new options including ambient light, sunlight strength, vignette and field of view control that let each user control how the game appearsâ€, plus “classic railroads in a sepia overlay to modern lines with bright fresh colours.â€

Gaming Feed News / Celeste developer has a new name – and a new game in the works
« Last post by [TiG]Betty on September 08, 2019, 02:23:50 AM »Celeste’s developer just announced that the game’s (free) final chapter, Farewell, is on the way early next week, with over 100 new levels to get stuck into. This was also packaged with another surprise announcement - developer Matt Makes Games is technically no more, now replaced with a shiny new name: Extremely OK Games, or EXOK, for short - and it’s working on another game.
In a news post chock-full of revelations on its website, newly-renamed studio EXOK says “Hello, and Farewellâ€, offering some exciting details about Celeste Chapter 9 and of changes to the studio. Celeste dev Matt Thorson introduces the new game studio, EXOK, which is based in Vancouver and made up of the previous team's newly-relocated devs, saying that the game’s success has “allowed us to set up a lot of things that will make our work better, faster, easier, and more fun.â€
And it sounds like some of this streamlined and fun new work is already in the pipeline - the studio says it’s already working on its next title, but details so far are scarce. It’s currently codenamed EXOK1, but that’s about all the studio is giving away right now. EXOK says it’s “still in a very exploratory phase of development, sussing out what this thing wants to be†but adds that it’s “excited to share more about it when the time is right.â€
