just found out your nick is aint an msn one

So to make it easy - go download mirc at mirc.com. install it.

Now start the Programm and choose "fiile -> connect". The connection manager might even be infront once you enter the programm.

Select the connect Page, enter a Name, E-Mail adress (must not be correct), Nickname and an alt nick if one is already taken.

Then go to the first drop down menu at "IRC NETWORK", choose "Quakenet" then hit connect.

Grats, you are now on quakenet..

to join tigs main channel use the command:
/j #tig.ie

or even
/j #anychannelyouwant
