We've talked about sub-channels for the various squads for TS for a while now.
Here's what we've figured out:

In TS, the keybindings are found in Settings->Key Settings.
You can become a channel commander in Self-> Channel Commander (red icon).
At the VERY least would like to enable internal comms for squads and (of course) maintain the ability to say-all.

(Step1) Maintain 'say-all' even when in SubChannels:[/color]

Add->

Whisper to + Channel pre-defs + Channel Family
Go to the left-most Key Combination box and press the set Set button to assign a key.
You can obviously have key combinations of up to 3 keys.[/list:u]

(Step2) Talk internally within your SubChannel:[/color]

Basically, this is done with your normal "say" button you've been using all along.
Your whole SubChannel can hear you, nobody else.[/list:u]

(Step3) Talk internally to YOUR SubChannel Channel-Commander:[/color]

Add->

Whisper to + Chan. Commander + In sub channel
Assign another key.
This is for telling your squad leader something, either to fill him in or have him pass it on to another squad/leader.
If you have a tactical idea for another squad, you can pass it up and he can decide if it can be done and is worth bothering other leaders.[/list:u]

(Step4) Talk to ALL Channel-Commanders:[/color]

Add->

Whisper to + Chan. Commander + In channel family
Assign another key.
This is how a channel commander can butt into other commanders comms with info or tactics.[/list:u]

Why The Fuck?
We want everyone to be able to say everything to everyone.
But you can't, there's echos and talking over eachother.
Lucutus is telling his team there's enemy mines on the road in front of them while you're trying to tell yours that there's a sniper on the roof.

Both urgent, nobody really gets the message.
Also you don't care if there's mines up Luc's arse, you don't want to listen to him.
He doesn't care about that blasted sniper you keep harping on about.
Internal chat means Luc can say what he wants all day to his team and nobody else has to hear about it.
If Green team want to 'sing a song of sixpence', Luc doesn't want to hear you.

If Luc decides your team needs to know about the mines he can broadcast or tell your teamleader.
If there's a cobra about to shoot them down, you can still shout it.
Shouting to a necessary minimum, internal chatter to whatever level you want.
If you just capped that sniper dogging your squad, a little "hoo haa" won't invite the wrath of other squad leaders for noise pollution.

If you have an idea, like 'I think they'll try come down the river next with the PT-76' you can tell your team.
Stupid ideas, pointing out the obvious, a bit of celebration and a bit of craic if we can.

If you're moving on a flag, you can be talking as you do it.
"Hellrazer left flank, Harold the right. Harold, nade them and I'll go in on impact."
"Fire in the hole!"
"Flip, I died. Guy with AK on the left side."
"Got him"
"Cap the flag and hold, I'll spawn nearest and catch up."

Chances are you can't over-use it.
There is so much we can do with this now, it is rediculous.
And there's more settings.
You can map a talk to specific player button if you want to. Why?
Dunno, maybe you want to talk about the weather, plan a mutiny
or squabble over that pretty lil thing in Hue city that likes you both.

If you're on the navan general channel, it all still works as normal.
If you use the sides in navan, you can talk as normal but ALSO say-all to acknowledge kills and, of course, acknowledge someone's absolute fluke.

ALL MEMBERS SHOULD READ ABOVE AND SET IT UP TODAY!  

Don't change your normal talk key, this is the one yer used to and will be used to talk to your squad.

Instead set another handy key which doesn't do anything else in-game to chat to all in the channel family.  

If we get steps 1 & 2 working,  It's a massive advantage over what we're using atm.
